Our models are completely customizable. We use patient specific CT scans to replicate anatomy/pathology. Our customers have found up to 80% savings when compared to cadaver labs due to the shipping, disposal, infectious disease testing, lab rental, and sterilization. The neurosurgeon inventor, Dr. Michael Bohl, saw a need for additional hands-on practice during his medical training. Dr. Bohl’s background was in military and aviation, which involved multiple hours of training on how to overcome different scenarios. When he went to his cadaver lab before his first case of pediatric scoliosis, he found that the cadaver did not match the deformity or age of his patient. This moment is where the idea of SurgiSTUD was founded, creating a surgical training model that more accurately depicts the actual deformities that surgeons will encounter in the OR.
